The professional training program of the FLIC Scuola di Circo, a project of the R.S.G.T. born in 2002, is aimed at young people between 16 and 30 years old and includes various training programs. The main objective is centered on the student and their training; the entire design focuses on the multiple possibilities and methodologies of teaching, learning, satisfaction and growth connected to it. The complete course aims to provide the student with solid training on the fundamental subjects of contemporary circus, incorporating the learning of the basics and the in-depth study of the characterizing circus disciplines. The aim is also to develop the capacity for autonomous management through a wealth of planning, relational and organizational skills, in order to achieve complete training to face a career in the contemporary circus. The lessons take place at the headquarters in via Magenta 11, a historic building of 3600 m2 located in the center of Turin, just 100 meters from the Porta Nuova station, and at the Spazio FLIC in via Paganini 0/200, an open space of 600 m2 in Barriera di Milano. This place not only hosts the lessons, but is also the venue for the artistic presentations of the students and guest companies.
The FLIC project enjoys the support of the italian Ministry of Culture as a center for professional development, the Piedmont Region, the Compagnia di San Paolo and has the patronage of the Municipality of Turin and Circumscription 6.
Active training programs (which can be accessed after passing the selections that take place every year in July):
The mission of the Mise Ă Niveau is to provide the basics relating to circus discipline , physical preparation, floor acrobatics, the trampoline, handstands, acrodance, classical and contemporary dance, circus actor and the theater.
Attention is paid to individual work to ensure that the student can prepare themselves to best face a contemporary circus training course by providing all the tools necessary to undertake a specialized professional path at circus training centres.
Mandatory attendance : 1 year (October – June)
Lesson timetable : The number of hours is equivalent to approximately 1300 >1400 hours per year.
Practical subjects : Monday / Friday from 8.45am to 4.45pm

The year called Mise à Niveau of the training course for the Contemporary Circus Artist of the FLIC Scuola di Circo  has the following costs:

First year
The training course of the first year includes the improvement and study of the following subjects: circus discipline, physical preparation, floor acrobatics, trampoline, handstands, acrodance, classical and contemporary dance, circus and theater actor ; furthermore, the work on the stage collective is addressed starting from the movement of choral creation with the help of teachers and directors and the choice of the specialty which they will deepen during the second year.
Second year
The student begins artistic research with respect to the technique of their own circus apparatus, which is metaphorically defined as “searching for one’s own home”. Each student is encouraged to seek their own way of using, experiencing and perceiving the instrument. It also deals with creation and representation, tracing the foundations for the personal artistic project. In parallel, the study and in-depth study of the study subjects of the first year continues.

The training program includes a study of the chosen circus discipline, enriched by lessons in physical preparation, floor acrobatics, trampoline, handstands, acrodance, classical and contemporary dance, circus actor and theatre. The final objective is to deepen the physical-technical skills relating to one’s discipline and at the same time deepen the scenic basics with internationally recognized teachers in the field of contemporary circus.

The Technical Year of the training course for the Contemporary Circus Artist of the FLIC Scuola di Circo  has the following costs:

The training program includes a focus on an individual artistic project of the student. The development of the project will be accompanied and followed for the entire duration of the year: the objective is the staging of a short version of the personal artistic project. The training course will be enriched by physical preparation lessons, floor acrobatics, trampoline, handstands, acrodance, classical and contemporary dance, circus actor and theatre. Each student will have access to specific lessons according to their artistic and technical needs.

AUDITIONS 2023
11-12-13-14 of JULY
DEADLINE TO SUBMIT APPLICATIONS: 23 of JUNE 2023
Auditions for admission to the Contemporary Circus Artist Training Courses 2023-24 will happen ON-SITE in Turin on the following days: 11th-12th-13th and 14th of July 2023.
Every candidate is required to be available and attend the full 4 days of Auditions; further information will be communicated shortly before the Audition dates.
Any candidate who is not able to physically attend the on-site auditions for valid reasons (distance, health, family issues, auditions for other circus schools in the same week…) can benefit from the possibility to do Online Auditions upon request to the School management. The management will examine the validity of individual requests, and if the request for online Auditions is accepted, dates and times for the will be agreed upon.
Participating in the Auditions is free of cost.
On-site AUDItions 2024:
9th-10th-11th-12th of July
Deadline to submit applications: 17th of June 2024
Auditions for admission to the Contemporary Circus Artist Training Courses 2024-25 will happen on-site on the days : 9th-10th-11th-12th of July 2024.
The Pedagogical Team promotes the Auditions as an opportunity to share, get to know and learn from each other. Therefore, it is requested of each candidate to be present for all 4 days of the auditions.
More specifications will be sent near the date of the auditions.

ONLINE AUDITIONS 2024:
from the 3rd of June

Online Auditions for admission to the Contemporary Circus Artist Training Courses 2024-25 will happen from the 3rd of June 2024 until date to stabilize based on the number of applications.
