Once upon a time, there was a plastic body. Maybe two, maybe ten, maybe a hundred… Or maybe 101!
Once upon a time, there were lots of little cyborgs that brightened up the lives of little girls, allowing them to imagine all the possible worlds, places and moments that they could materialise and experience with those inanimate beings.
There is Morgana. And there is Barbie: the one and only possibility, the first three-dimensional adult doll, the best-selling doll ever.
There is Morgana. And there are the Barbies: playmates, companions of imagination, of possible and impossible adventures, who take on all the roles I want (they want)… They are my friends, my doppelgangers, my audience, my enemies, my Nutella spoons, my superpowers, my bullets…
There is Franchina, the remote-controlled car. And, of course, there is Ken… Human!

MORGANA MORANDI
She was born in Bologna in 1995, with a very different twin sister and a childhood spent playing avidly with Barbie dolls. She graduated in Psychology from the Alma Mater Studiorum in Bologna, while at the same time approaching aerial disciplines at OZ and Buco and physical theatre at the ITC Teatro. From 2017 to 2020, she specialised in aerial hoop at the FLIC Circus School in Turin. She then continued her studies, deepening her knowledge of clowning with Willy The Clown, contortion with Alessandra Canini, Agostina Recinella and ProFlexibility Training (Argentina), and contemporary dance at the Alta Formazione della Compagnia Arearea. At the same time, she attended the Master’s in Neuro-Psychosomatics at the Villaggio Globale in Bagni di Lucca, also becoming a Mindfulness Instructor. In 2022, she co-founded the circus and street theatre company “Le Vamp”, bringing the show “Pink Punk” to the main squares and festivals of Europe. Since 2022, she has been working on the Miss Sbarbie project, where she has finally returned to playing with Barbie dolls.
