LE TÉMOIGNAGE DE LA CHIMÈRE
Three heads, three bodies connected by the same apparatus: aerial straps. An unstable alliance, built on resistance and mutual recognition. The Voice of the Chimera explores an almost instinctive idea: coexistence exists only when it accepts its own imperfection.
The performance questions what it means to be together. Must we necessarily resemble one another in order to coexist? This question—both intimate and political—runs through the entire work: it speaks of families, communities, and that tension which binds without ever fully unifying.

On stage, three performers share the same system of straps. Their balance depends on that of the others: with every gesture, the other reinvents themselves. Every suspension, every release becomes a response. Their trajectories intersect: attracting, repelling, supporting, lifting, knotting themselves again. At times like conjoined bodies, prisoners of their own entanglements; at times free electrons, separated for an instant before falling back into the same shared gravity. They compose a collective body under tension, oscillating between constraint and surrender.

In this work we seek to untangle the bonds between attachment and belonging: to understand how to remain united without becoming confused, how to support one another without erasing the other. The straps become the site of this negotiation: they weigh, support, limit, and liberate at the same time.

The Chimera is a mutable figure—neither monster nor miracle—born of our contradictions.
It reveals the beauty of disagreement, the strength of fragility. Here, balance is a struggle, and falling is a way of learning how to stand.

JEF EVERAERT
Jef Everaert was born in Belgium in 1999. As a child, he attended the Circolito school in Malines, where he discovered juggling. Later, at the Circus Arts High School in Leuven, he discovered the roue cyr, a piece of equipment that quickly became an obsession. Eager to broaden his horizons, he enrolled at the FLIC Circus School before joining the 34th class of the Centre National des Arts du Cirque in Châlons-en-Champagne. There, he developed a unique style with the roue Cyr, fuelled by his experience in juggling and his desire to explore it from a personal perspective. After his Échappée project in 2022, he completed his training at the CNAC in 2023 with the show Balestra, directed by Marie Molliens (Cie Rasposo). Since then, he has co-created “In Difference” with Marica Marinoni and participated in Biel Rosselló’s (Cie Solfasirc) project La Quadrature du Cercle, a research project on new equipment inspired by the roue Cyr.
