STARTING POINTS
A two-week research project to sum up the journey undertaken at FLIC, seeking harmony between the mind—tangled, full of emotions and urgent expressions—and the body—full of energy and technical skills to display on stage. Often, the two do not align, and we struggle to transfer our inner world into movement. So we work, pushing our limits along unexpected paths, trying to remain humbly honest with our own essence.
Performers: Gaia Angelini, Mohammed Badoui, Cecilia Bossi, Benjamin Brettreich, Nele Buchholz, Enrico Canoci, Ariel Castagneri, Rebeca Códolo Belice, Ileana Deidda, Gabriel De Oliveria, Emilien Ferrand, Maria Godawa, Margot Ledoux, Mina Leonardi, Ido Mannor, Camilla Marabotto, Yaël Poisson, Katherine Sergeychuk, Lucia Steidl, Kevin Vionnet.
ERIKA BETTIN
Began studying dance at age 7. In 2006, she completed a two-year contemporary dance program at Opus Ballet, Florence, and joined their youth company. She graduated as a circus performer from the professional school FLIC in 2008. In 2009/10, she danced with Enclave Dance Company under Roberto Olivan, beginning her professional career. Founder of the contemporary circus company MagdaClan, she was part of Compagnia Finzi Pasca on a world tour from 2015 to 2017. Since 2019, she has participated in various productions as an artist, and worked as a tutor and assistant director for Mani come ragni (Cowles Center – Minneapolis) and Circo InCanto (FLIC – Polimnia Vocal Ensemble – Conservatorio “Giuseppe Verdi”). She currently focuses on professional teaching, advocacy on neurodivergence in circus, and occasionally serves as an external artistic eye for shows.
IVAN MORALES RUIZ
Trained in performing arts from childhood through singing and dance, working with a traditional Mexican music group. At 14, he decided to dedicate his life to circus, initially training as a hand-to-hand porter in Mexico City at Cirko de Mente, and later specializing in flying trapeze at FLIC Circus School. In 2017, he continued his training with the 31st promotion at CNAC. From 2020, he developed his first professional creation, Kamelia et ses folles alliées, and founded the company LXS REYENXS. He also works as a performer in Piano sur le fil by Gaëtan Levêque and Bachar Mar-Khalifé and teaches at PPCM Bagneux and FLIC Circus School.
