THE RISK OF THE FLAMINGO
A choral show in which technique emerges as the basis of poetic language. Personal trajectories intertwine in a collective event, the circus becomes thought, risk becomes the possibility of beauty. A week of study on the humanity that can spring from technique, condensed into an exciting collective show.
FRANCESCO SGRÒ
Founder of the Fuma che’nduma circus school in 1998, he graduated from the Flic Circus School in Turin in 2004 and became its artistic director from 2012 to 2018. In 2010, he won the Equilibrio Award with the 320Chili collective, of which he is the founder and director of the shows Invisibile and Ai Migranti. Since 2010, he has been an associate artist with Sosta Palmizi and guest director for Spellbound dance company for the show Collapse. Since 2015, he has been director and artistic coach for the CODARTS University in Rotterdam, circus department. In 2018, he collaborated as a director with I.N.A.C. (National Institute of Circus Arts) in Portugal, and in the same year he began collaborating as a choreographer for Balleteatro, a professional dance school in Porto. He also collaborates with E.N.A.C.R. in Rosny sous bois and with D.O.C.H. in Stockholm.
